Botox® has been used as a cosmetic treatment for several decades, treating patients worldwide. Botox® blocks the chemical signals which instruct targeted muscles to contract and is used to essentially weaken the specific muscles that cause the development of dynamic lines and wrinkles – e.g., if a patient’s facial movements lead to the development of forehead lines, Botox can be used to stop the procerus and corrugators muscles contracting, resulting in smoother, younger-looking skin.

• Avoid reclining for the first 4 hours
• Abstain from vigorous exercise while your skin is healing
• Say no to alcohol for at least a day
• Don’t take non-steroidal anti-inflammatories such as aspirin and ibuprofen, as these thin the blood and can hinder the healing process
• Stay away from intense heat, including hot showers and saunas
• Don’t touch or rub the treated area for 2 weeks

Following treatment, you might experience slight swelling and redness at the injection sites. This is to be expected, and will disappear in a matter of hours.

The onset of results varies from person to person. Some clients notice a difference within 2 – 3 days, but most of the time it takes 10 – 14 days for optimal results to show.
